New MHCLG Advice note on Balconies on Residential Buildings
The Ministry of Housing, Communities & Local Government has just published an Advice Note on Balconies on Residential Buildings.
The advice note provides further detail on the risks arising from balconies on buildings and has been written for residents and building owners of residential buildings with multiple dwellings (i.e. blocks of flats,) although the principles may also apply to other building types.
The document is available at:

Earlier this month a fire at Samuel Garside House in Barking spread via combustible balconies and damaged 47 flats, making some uninhabitable for many months.
