Working with Concrete and Bricklaying in Cold Weather
Winter is almost upon us and it’s important to be aware of the challenges faced when bricklaying or placing concrete in cold weather – even if the ambient temperature does not fall below freezing.
Temperatures below 5°C may mean that special precautions need to be taken to prevent any loss of structural integrity in concrete or brickwork. Aspects of working practices to consider include:
- Storage of materials
- Heating measures
- Protection of completed or partially completed work
